Everest on the iPhone

My coverage of the Everest 2010 climbing season is now available on the iPhone.

I have worked with Alpine App over the past several months to provide a simple way of reading the latest posts and seeing the location your favorite teams. It is the identical information on my website but easily viewed using the Everest app that can be download from iTunes.

It is free.

The home page is a listing of the recent posts; just touch a headline to read the entire post. The team location information is always the first post and provides an overview of their last reported location based on what they have posted on their sites.

You can also go directly to that teams website through the link. There are two location maps, north and south, where you touch the camp name and it gives you an idea of the teams at that camp.

You will notice a link asking for a donation to Alzheimer’s research. This takes you to The Cure Alzheimer’s Fund where 100% of your donation goes to research; none to their overhead and none to me.

This is the most effective way of supporting Alzheimer’s research. If you appreciate my annual coverage, please help support this critical cause today.

In fact, please make a donation right now.

Alpine App has several other apps you can download from iTunes.

Teams will begin leaving for Kathmandu in late March but look for more interviews and background articles until then.

Thanks for your support and interest.

Climb On!

Alan
