K2: Sunset

sunsetNow, advice half way around the world. I left as the sun set, and as I arrived the sun was setting again and I still have a long way to go.

For Alzheimer’s s, many suffer a condition called Sundowning, or sundown syndrome. They get confused and agitated as the sun goes down — and sometimes through the night.

Also it prevents them from sleeping well, and may cause them to be more likely to wander. Due to the stress it puts on caregivers, sundowning is a common cause of caregiver burnout. (taken from WebMd)

Lot’s of time to think on a 13 hour flight. I am excited, confident and resolute in the mission. I will give K2 everything I have, and a little more with the overriding goal to return home to my friends and family.

This is going to be quite a journey!! Glad you are along.

Climb On!
Alan

  1. Alan. I read your blogs with my heart in my mouth. I love your commitment to the cause and your realistic approach to the mountain that the challenge is big, but coming home is foremost. I wish you god speed – Paul.
