After watching my annual coverage of the Everest climbing season the past few years,   <\/a>  plus the content on my own site from my own adventures I was approached by Editor Joe spring to join their team. I am honored to join such excellent bloggers as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gearjunkie.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Stephen Regenold<\/a> of the Gear Junkie.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to sharing my experiences and a passion for mountaineering, this is also a wonderful opportunity to raise visibility for Alzheimer&#8217;s causes. I am most grateful to Outside for supporting my efforts. In fact, I will be in the December print issue which discuss climbers who climb for causes.<\/p>\n<p>This is how my first blog started:<\/p>\n<dl id=\"attachment_1599\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\" style=\"width: 160px;\">\n<dt class=\"wp-caption-dt\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-1599\" title=\"Alan Arnette\" src=\"http:\/\/www.alanarnette.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/businesscard1-150x88.jpg\" alt=\"Alan Arnette\" width=\"150\" height=\"88\" \/><\/dt>\n<\/dl>\n<blockquote><p>Recently while designing new business cards, I considered my title. With my early retirement after 30 years in high tech, I needed a new title and \u201cretired\u201d just didn\u2019t fit.<\/p>\n<p>I considered many choices but couldn\u2019t settle on just one. Thus these three made it on the card: Speaker, Mountaineer, Alzheimer\u2019s Advocate. And with this new blog for Outside, I probably need to add writer.<\/p>\n<p>Hi, I\u2019m Alan Arnette and welcome to my blog. Some of you may know me from my own climbs and annual coverage of Mt. Everest on my website www.alanarnette.com. With new blog for Outside, I hope to share my own adventures plus my thoughts on the world of mountaineering.
