As I covered in a recent post<\/a>, Everest 2021<\/a> is coming on soon. There are questions as to whether operators should run their programs at all. Many are moving forward but a few are not.<\/p>\n

I discuss the situation with Mark Gunlogson, Mountain Madness President who has canceled their activities from the Nepal side this spring. They are running a fundraiser with partners who will provide matching funds.\u00a0You can read more at their site<\/a> and support the fundraiser at their GoFundMe<\/a><\/p>\n

In addi\u00adtion to assist\u00ading the vac\u00adci\u00adna\u00adtion effort, Moun\u00adtain Mad\u00adness is donat\u00ading $100 for each of our Nepal Khum\u00adbu trip reg\u00adis\u00adtrants who are post\u00adpon\u00ading their Ever\u00adest Base Camp Trek<\/a>, Ama Dablam<\/a>, and Island Peak <\/a>trips with us this spring. This mon\u00adey will be dis\u00adtrib\u00aduted to our Nepal staff to help off\u00adset the work the spring sea\u00adson pro\u00advid\u00aded would have oth\u00ader\u00adwise pro\u00advid\u00aded. As there are no charges for post\u00adpon\u00ading and all trip mon\u00adey is moved for\u00adward, we will also be con\u00adtact\u00ading all our cus\u00adtomers to invite them to con\u00adtribute to our larg\u00ader efforts, as they have so gen\u00ader\u00adous\u00adly done fol\u00adlow\u00ading the earth\u00adquakes in 2015 and Spring 2020 when the pan\u00addem\u00adic first arrived.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
