After a reported 28 people (10 members with 18 Sherpa) summited on Monday, May 31, a few final teams are underway. Also more details on the C3 situation re: avalanches. By my count: 167 members with 284 Sheras thus far, for a total of 451 summits.<\/p>\n

In addition to the 16 people from Elite Exped who summited Monday morning, these from Pioneer Adventures (4 members, 8 Sherpas):<\/p>\n

Pioneer Adventure’s Everest Expedition 2021 are Iulia & Delia (Twins Sister) from Romania, Pasang Gelzzen Sherpa, Mingma Dorchi Sherpa (summitted 2 times this season), Lakpa Gelzzen Sherpa (3 summits this season), Lakpa Thinduk Sherpa (3 summits this season), Chakra Rai, Pemba Tashi Sherpa (2 summits this season), Danuru sherpa bujpur (2 summits this season), Chhiring Namgyal sherpa (2 summits this season), Moritz Johann from Germany and Anja Karen from Germany. source<\/a><\/p>\n

Asian Trekking are having a good season and has more going up tonight. They tell me:<\/p>\n

JIMWS (Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports)- NIM (Nehru Instutute of Mountaineering) (6member\/7Sherpa) team reached the South Col earlier this morning. Yesterday evening, they started their climb straight from C2 to C4 with a 5 hour rest stop in C3. Our first summit attempt for the 26th was thwarted by the incredibly strong winds on the 25th which didn’t allow us to reach the south col. We dug in at C2 during the Cyclone Yaas impact. Unfortunately our whole C3 was destroyed by the wind around the 25th\/26th and subsequently buried by the heavy snow in the storm so nothing could be salvaged. My sirdar said last night that it looked more like an avalanche but I cant confirm. Hence, we had planned to go straight from C2 to C4. They are now resting at C4 and will be heading for the summit tonight.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Currently, I’m told that I understand that there is a team from Satori and another 2 teams from Seven Summits Treks’, including Arnold Coster’s, who is also attempting the summit Monday, May 31, summiting Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n
