Summits continue on Nanga Parbat as teams arrive at K2 Base Camp. What used to be considered a massive technical challenge is now routine, with the Nepal guides using Everest techniques to fix rope, break trails, and establish camps. Still a challenging climb, but today is rarely comparable to what climbers did a decade ago.<\/p>\n

8K expeditions<\/a> said three summited NP: Chris Warner climbing with Chhiring Sherpa and Pemba T Sherpa. 14 peaks<\/a> said nine made it to the top comprising six members and three Sherpas, several without supplemental oxygen. Image Nepa<\/a>l reported a team of ten, equally split between members, and Sherpas also summit NP today, bringing the total for July 2nd<\/sup> to at least twenty-two. With the twenty a couple of days ago, that makes forty-two this season. There were around fifty permits issued.<\/p>\n

Norwegian Kristin Harila<\/a> and Tenjen (Lama) Sherpa nabbed their tenth 8000er with Nanga Parbat a few days ago and now moves to Gasherbrum I and II, Broad Peak and K2. She is climbing with multiple Sherpas from Seven Summits Treks, including Pasdawa Sherpa of 8K Expeditions. The first peak of the project was Shishapangma on April 26, 2023. She wants to get all fourteen in three months.<\/p>\n

Over on K2, teams are making their way up the Baltoro Glacier to reach K2 base camp. K2 summits usually occur near the end of July. Progress is reported on Broad Peak, with ropes nearing the high camps. They may make a summit bid soon, pending good weather.<\/p>\n

Gasherbrum I\/II<\/h3>\n

At 26,362\u2019\/8035m. GII is often considered the most attainable of the Karakoram\u2019s 8000ers. There have been about 360 summits of GI and 950 of GII.<\/p>\n
