Longs Peak's Summit

Longs Peak is the highest peak in Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park and the 15th highest in the state at 14,261 feet.

It is one of the msot popular 14ers to climb and is attempted by over 10,000 people each year. About 3,000 succeed.

It takes most people over 12 hours to make the 14 mile round trip that has a 5,100' elevation gain from the trailhead. Many parties start at 2:00AM to avoid the summer thunderstorms and lightening.

These are pictures I have taken during my summer climbs. Please see the album for a winter climb.
