This is how the ice fall doctors fix the ladders. There can be 20 to 30 ladders in any one season so I assume they go skinny on the gear. The biggest problem I’ve seen is that the snow melts out the screws so pickets seem to work better.
How does this ice screw placement perform under a sudden load? Is this not incorrect? Why is there no carabiner connecting the rope to the ice screw?
